My UAB vs Memphis College Basketball Betting Preview
This is a game I've had circled for the past month. Despite being a team I was high on in the preseason, UAB started slow at 5-6. But since mid-December, they've been absolutely rolling — besides a three-point loss to North Texas, which there's no shame in.
The offense is humming and Yaxel Lendeborg has gone thermonuclear. Over the last four outings, he's averaging 22 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists with three stocks per game. He's playing at an AAC Player at the Year, borderline First Team All-American kind of level.
Also, UAB will be happy to play even faster with Memphis.
Really, it's not all that complicated, though: When Memphis is playing in the non-conference or when it gets to March Madness, I'm interested in backing Penny Hardaway. However, when opponents pour over his tape in the AAC, he gets outcoached all the time.
I'm going to sprinkle on the moneyline, but if this gets close to 10, this is going to be one of my favorite bets of the entire month.
UAB is a team that the average fan looks at its record and figures it's a middle-of-the-pack AAC squad, but I don't think that's accurate.
The Blazers are going to bring the fight to the Tigers here, and I think they'll flirt with the outright upset.
