UAB vs UC Irvine College Basketball Betting Preview

By Bruce Marshall

UAB might appreciate a bit of a slower pace than Sunday's wild ride at Santa Clara that might as well have been played on the raceway at nearby Laguna Seca.

The Blazers nonetheless answered the bell and finally chased down the Broncos in the final minutes, led once again by a double-double machine in 6-foot-9 power forward Yaxel Lendeborg (17.8 PPG & 11.2 RPG, third nationally in the latter), who carries a streak of five straight double-doubles into Irvine.

Christian Coleman, the 6-foot-8 front-liner, also chipped in by scoring 21 as part of a potent offensive squad that averages 82.5 PPG (16th).

The NIT has already tested the mettle of Andy Kennedy's team. The Blazers have flown all across the country, including trips to Philadelphia, San Jose and Orange County. Luckily for UAB, it has at least stayed in the same time zone for a few days after the win at Santa Clara.

Play UAB in Wednesday night's NIT quarterfinals.
