The UCF Knights make the four-hour drive south to Coral Gables Friday night to battle the Miami Hurricanes, who are trying to prove that last season’s run to the Final Four was no fluke.

The Knights are officially a Big 12 member in basketball and picked up a win over another south Florida squad in their opener by beating FIU. But UCF steps up in class here as it looks to avenge a two-point home loss to the Canes last season.

Below I have UCF vs. Miami odds and a prediction, including a college basketball betting guide for Friday, Nov. 10.

UCF Knights

The Knights rolled past FIU on Monday, 85-62 to easily cash as 10-point home favorites. UCF jumped out to a 22-point halftime lead and never looked back, as former Ball State Cardinal Jaylin Sellers scored 23 points in his Knights’ debut.

Darius Johnson chipped in 15 points for the Knights, as no other UCF player scored in double-figures.

Johnny Dawkins’ squad went on a 25-7 run in the final 10 minutes of the first half to put the game out of reach.

The Knights shot an incredible 24-of-38 (63%) from 2-point range.

FIU picked up 24 points from the free-throw line, as the Knights limited the Panthers to 4-of-18 shooting from 3-point range and only 13 makes from 2-point range.

Last season, the Knights dropped a 66-64 decision to the Hurricanes in late November. Miami barely cashed as 1.5-point road favorites, even though Johnson led all scorers with 24 points for UCF. Both teams didn’t shoot well from 3-point range; UCF hit only 4-of-17 attempts, while Miami converted on 6-of-19 tries.

The Knights cashed in four of six opportunities as an underdog in non-conference action in 2022-23, which included outright wins against Florida State, Oklahoma State and Mississippi.

Miami Hurricanes

The Canes reached the Final Four last season before falling to the eventual champion, UConn. Miami beat the likes of Houston and Texas on its way to the Final Four.

The Hurricanes are facing a Big 12 team in the regular season for the first time since taking on Iowa State in 2016.

Jim Larranaga’s club crushed NJIT in the season opener, 101-60, at the Watsco Center as 24.5-point favorites. Wooga Poplar knocked down five 3-pointers to lead Miami with 21 points, while big man Norchad Omier scored 20 points and pulled down eight rebounds.

Former Florida State standout Matthew Cleveland put up 16 points in his Miami debut, and the Canes scored at will from 2-point range by converting on 27-of-44 attempts.

With the win, the Hurricanes improved to 17-1 in their last 18 home games since the start of last season. The lone loss came to Florida State, as Miami blew a 25-point second-half lead in that game.

However, Miami covered only nine of those 18 home contests during this span. Seven of those ATS losses came as a double-digit favorite.

Betting Pick & Prediction

After last year’s close loss to the Hurricanes, UCF should be pretty motivated in this matchup. This will be the Knights’ toughest non-conference opponent and likely the most points they'll receive prior to Big 12 play.

Miami doesn’t have another big game until visiting Kentucky on November 28, as the Canes won’t have a look-ahead spot here.

UCF is worth a strong look as an underdog in this spot at +8.5, and play it to +7.5.

Pick: UCF +8.5 (Play to +7.5)
