It's not very often No. 1 matches up with No. 2 early in the college basketball season.
It almost happened last season with Baylor and Gonzaga before it got canceled due to COVID complications.
Fingers crossed as there are still a few more left, but we'll be getting our first 1 vs. 2 matchup on Tuesday night when the No. 1 ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs take on the No. 2 ranked UCLA Bruins at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Both teams have already had big tests early on this season. UCLA beat No. 7 Villanova in an overtime thriller a little over a week ago and Gonzaga obliterated No. 8 Texas.
This is also a rematch from the Final Four game last year that saw Jalen Suggs hit a game-winning buzzer-beater to push Gonzaga past UCLA.
UCLA returns their entire starting five from that game while Gonzaga returns just two guys.
