My USF vs Memphis College Basketball Betting Preview
No. 16 Memphis (25-5, 15-2) closes out the regular season with a home matchup vs. USF (13-17, 6-11) on senior night.
Memphis is 9-1 in its last 10 games and captured its first AAC regular season title after edging UTSA 75-70. If the Tigers beat the Bulls, they'll earn the outright share of the regular season title.
USF will pose little resistance in that quest. The Bulls are riding a three-game losing streak after falling 69-63 to FAU. USF is just 3-7 in its last 10 games.
Memphis beat USF 80-65 in Tampa on Feb. 13. Dain Dainja finished with 20 points and seven rebounds in that one.
Memphis' scoring ability will once again be too much for USF. The Tigers are first in field goal percentage (47.6) and 3-point percentage (38.8) — as well as second in points per game (79.9) — in the conference.
Dainja is averaging 20.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks during the last four games. He'll have no trouble carving up the Bulls on the interior.
In the win vs. UTSA, PJ Haggerty notched his 29th game in double digits. The dynamic guard is a deadly 3-point shooter at 40.9%. USF's defense is fourth in the conference in 3-point percentage (32.7), but Haggerty and Tyrese Hunter (39.9 percent) will make the Bulls pay.
The main players for Memphis to be aware of are Jayden Reid and Jamille Reynolds. Reid is a decent scorer with a solid 3-point stroke (35.1%). Meanwhile, Dainja will have to contend with the physical 6-foot-11 Reynolds, who's a strong rebounder (7.7) and shot blocker (1.6).
Memphis will earn a double-digit victory over USF and head into the AAC Tournament with plenty of momentum.
