Villanova has a robust history as a high seed in the NCAA Tournament, and this year is no different.
Although they were billed as the weakest No. 2 seed heading into March Madness this year, the Wildcats have dominated their way to the Sweet 16 with barely a sweat.
Their first true test of the tournament will likely come on Thursday night against No. 11 seed Michigan, which — despite its seed — is ranked No. 26 in the nation according to KenPom.
So while Michigan isn’t a traditional No. 11 seed, Villanova has had prolonged success against teams of its ilk.
The Wildcats are 9-0 against teams that are nine seeds or lower than them in the NCAA Tournament.
In other words, as No. 1, No. 2 or No. 3 seeds in the tournament, Villanova has crushed No. 10 seeds or lower.
Below is a list of those games under Jay Wright, who has led the program since 2001.
