PropBetGuy's 49ers vs. Seahawks Player Prop
- Rayshawn Jenkins Over 6.5 Tackles + Assists (-125, DraftKings)
We’ve been treated to some classic battles between the 49ers and Seahawks over the years, especially in primetime. Kicking off Week 6 on Thursday Night Football, I’m expecting no different from the NFC West divisional foes.
My favorite player prop for this game is actually on the defensive side of the ball, with Seahawks safety Rayshawn Jenkins to clear his tackle plus assist total.
Jenkins has only cleared tonight’s line of 6.5 in two of his five games thus far. With 36 combined tackles, he’s tied for second on the Seahawks with fellow safety Julian Love.
Despite a low hit rate, tonight’s matchup against the 49ers should provide potential for Jenkins to rack up the tackles. Not only are the 49ers allowing the third-most tackles per game this season, at 67.4, but also the second-most tackles by safeties (17 per game, per Pro Football Focus data).
When you think about it intuitively, it makes sense: the 49ers have multiple playmakers who can get the ball to the second level of the defense, both on the ground and through the air.
Jenkins lines up in the box for 36% of his snaps (per PFF), and similarly positioned safeties have thrived against the 49ers. Budda Baker (12 tackles plus assists), Jabrill Peppers (7), Quentin Lake (10), Camryn Bynum (8), and Tony Adams (12) all cleared their tackle prop line against San Francisco.
Love is banged up, and listed as a game-time decision. Whether he plays or not, I expect a big game from Jenkins, who doesn’t come off the field on defense. I have the first-year Seahawk projected closer to eight tackles plus assists tonight.
Pick: Rayshawn Jenkins Over 6.5 Tackles + Assists (-125)
