The Bills vs. Patriots line was on the move on Monday, going from Bills -9.5 to -8 at some sportsbooks. It's holding at -8.5, though, at most places like bet365. Our pro tools indicate there has been sharp betting on New England that caused the move. DraftKings was still posting Bills -9, as of Tuesday at 1 p.m. ET.
The total for this game moved a bit, as well, but down by one-half point to 41.5.
The Bills won in Week 6, but fans won’t feel hugely inspired by the performance. Coming off a Week 5 loss in London to the Jaguars, Buffalo barely held on to beat the porous New York Giants on Sunday Night Football.
There’s little doubting that Buffalo is still a contender in the AFC. The Bills lost in Week 1 to the Jets before rattling off wins by 28, 34 and 28 points against the Raiders, Commanders and Dolphins. Josh Allen hasn’t looked like his MVP-candidate self yet, though, so there’s still room for improvement.
The Bills are 3-3 against the spread this season, and they’re also 3-3 to the over.
This has to be rock bottom for the Patriots … right?
New England is 1-5 against the spread this season and all six of its games have gone to the under. The Patriots' season high in points scored is 20, and that came all the way back in Week 1 against the Eagles.
Mac Jones isn't inspiring confidence right now. The mobile Malik Cunningham was his backup in Week 6 against the Raiders, while Bailey Zappe also waits in the wings. Jones taking a safety that led to New England not covering will be a lasting memory for bettors.
