Broncos vs Lions Same Game Parlay for Saturday Night
To cap off the NFL Saturday triple header, we have a cross-conference battle between two playoff hopefuls: the Broncos and the Lions. With two intriguing skill position players I love in this one, let’s fire off a mini same game parlay.
PropBetGuy will break down some of his favorite NFL plays of the day, and track all his bets in The Action Network app.
Broncos vs Lions Parlay (+134; ESPN Bet)
- Courtland Sutton 50+ Receiving Yards
- Sam LaPorta 4+ Receptions
Courtland Sutton 50+ Receiving Yards
With the Broncos winning six of their last seven games, Sutton has cleared at least 50 receiving yards at the same rate.
Over that span, Sutton leads the Broncos in target rate (23%), receiving yards (429) and has a ridiculous 49% air yard rate, second to only Garrett Wilson over that span (per FTN Fantasy). And over the course of this season, he’s been the first read on 25% of Russell Wilson’s dropbacks (per Fantasy Points), also easily pacing the Broncos.
This should be a great spot for Sutton to see some added looks. The Lions are much better against the run (seventh in DVOA, per FTN Fantasy) than the pass (19th).
Opposing lead receivers have had success against Detroit, especially outside, deep threats. DJ Moore (68 and 96 receiving yards), Chris Olave (119), Christian Watson (94) and Keenan Allen (175) all have put their stamp on the stat line versus a vulnerable Lions secondary.
I have Sutton projected to clear 60 receiving yards in this one.
Sam LaPorta 4+ receptions
The rookie standout has recorded at least four receptions in 10 of his 13 games this season. Those misses are comprised of two games versus the Bears, who rank eighth in DVOA against the tight ends (per FTN Fantasy), and the Panthers who allow the second fewest receptions to the position group.
The Broncos are essentially the opposite, ranking 30th in DVOA, and ranking inside the bottom five for targets allowed per game (8.2), receptions allowed per game (6.2), and target rate (24.5%) to tight ends.
Back home in the dome, where quarterback Jared Goff notably plays better, and coming off a tough loss, I expect the passing offense to come out firing. I have LaPorta garnering seven targets in this one, and catching five of them.
