You have to feel for D.J. Moore. The fifth-year receiver is coming off three consecutive seasons with at least 1,100 yards as he was establishing himself as one of the better young pass catchers in the league.
Two head coaches and three quarterbacks later, Moore has only accrued 605 yards over his 12 games played this season–it’s been a tumultuous season for the Panthers as a whole.
That being said, I’m buying low on the Maryland product for Week 14. With Sam Darnold taking the snaps for the Panthers, Moore will be catching passes from the quarterback he’s had the best connection with over the last two seasons.
Moore has eclipsed this line in 10 of Darnold’s last 13 starts dating back to last season as he’s averaged 73.2 receiving yards on 9.5 targets over that span. Only one of those starts was from this season (Week 12), and Moore capitalized with only his second 100-yard game of the 2022 campaign.
The Seahawks defense has continually improved over the course of the season. However, they do rank 20th in Football Outsider’s DVOA metric against their opponents’ primary receiver.
Even with a run-heavy game plan anticipated, I’m bullish on Moore continuing to produce with Darnold under center. I have the receiver projected at 60 yards.
