JuJu Smith-Schuster Player Props: Expert Bet for Chiefs vs Bengals

Arguably the most anticipated matchup of Week 13 is the rematch of last season’s AFC Championship game. The Chiefs look to avenge last year’s defeat as they travel to southwest Ohio to take on the Bengals.

While JuJu Smith-Schuster was not part of that game last season, he’s played a very key role in the Chiefs offense this year. As part of the formula to replace the departed Tyreek Hill, Smith-Schuster is second on the Chiefs to Travis Kelce in most major receiving categories, including yards, targets and receptions.

Before a concussion suffered in Week 10 derailed him, JuJu had eclipsed this line in five of his first eight games. In his return last week, he was eased back into the lineup, playing only 38% of the snaps and catching all three of his targets for 38 yards.

This week, I expect his snap and route share to increase to his pre-concussion levels (between 70-80%), especially as the Chiefs will still be without receivers Mecole Hardman and Kadarius Toney.

Since Week 7, the Bengals pass defense ranks 25th in Football Outsiders' DVOA metric and 10th against the run. With Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid still with a sour taste in their mouths after last season’s loss, I expect the Chiefs to be throwing the ball plenty.

In fact, in addition to Smith-Schuster’s straight receiving prop, I’ll be parlaying JuJu at over 49.5 receiving yards and Mahomes over 295.5 passing yards (+140 at DraftKings at the time of publishing). Mahomes has at least 320 passing yards in each of his last 6 games.

Overall, I see this is a big day for Smith-Schuster specifically, and the Chiefs passing offense. I have JuJu’s yardage projected in the mid-60s today.
