We’re treated to an AFC North slugfest on Sunday Night Football with the reigning AFC Champion Bengals traveling to Baltimore to take on the Ravens. The lights always shine a bit brighter on Sunday nights, and that’s why I’m honing in on Lamar Jackson’s rushing attempts prop.
We’ll start with the basics: Jackson is 2-of-4 to the over on this line this season, with 11 attempts in each of his last two games. However, dating back to the beginning of the 2019 season, Jackson has eclipsed this line in 21-of-33 games decided by two scores or less.
The spread for tonight’s game sits at -3 in favor of the Ravens, though they are a bit banged up at the skill positions. WR1 Rashod Bateman and backup running back Justice Hill are both out. And J.K. Dobbins, coming off his ACL tear in 2021, will continue to be eased into a workhorse role.
The stars are aligned for Jackson to keep the ball in his own hands tonight.
The Bengals run man coverage at a higher than average rate, which should leave them more susceptible to Jackson’s scrambling ability. Coupled with the projected 5-6 designed runs, and we could be in store for some big rushing numbers for the former MVP.
I have the Louisville product racking up another 11 rush attempts.
