PropBetGuy will break down his favorite NFL player props every week throughout this season, and will track all his bets in the Action Network app.
Let's get right into his top two NFL player prop picks for Sunday's slate of Week 2 matchups.
PropBetGuy's NFL Player Props for Sunday, Sept. 8
- Zach Charbonnet Over 2.5 Receptions (+100, DraftKings)
- Kyren Williams Over 93.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-120, DraftKings)
Zach Charbonnet will assume starting running back duties today, with Kenneth Walker currently dealing with an oblique injury.
The second-year running back is capable on the ground, but also adds an element of pass-catching to his repertoire. Last season, Charbonnet was targeted every 6.9 routes run, and on two of nine routes ran in Week 1.
With the Seahawks facing off against the Patriots’ stout secondary, I expect Charbonnet to be featured a bit more through the air. Last season, New England allowed more than five receptions to RBs per game, a mark that was matched in their Week 1 win against the Bengals.
I have Charbonnet projected for five targets today, which he should have no issue turning into three receptions.
A lot was made in the preseason about how the Rams would divvy up their backfield touches. In Week 1, last year's breakout running back, Kyren Williams, wound up handling 21 of 23 of the running back opportunities.
Williams played on 91% of the Rams offensive snaps, ceding only seven plays to back-up Ronnie Rivers. While this is likely an unsustainable snap-share going forward, it’s clear that Williams is the lead back coming into Week 2.
I see the third-year back thriving in a plus-matchup against the Cardinals today. Arizona is coming off a season in which they ranked 30th in rush defense, per FTN Fantasy’s DVOA metric, and 29th against running backs in the passing game. In Week 1, the Cardinals allowed Bills running backs to accrue 137 total yards.
The Rams will be without star receiver Puka Nacua this week. The Cardinals will dedicate their defensive coverage to stop Cooper Kupp, which should lead to some soft boxes against Williams and the Rams running game.
I have Williams projected to clear triple-digit yards today.
