We’ve got the Rams and Saints squaring off on Thursday Night Football, Week 16 edition.
If you follow me in the Action App, you know I've already hopped on Cooper Kupp’s reception line for this game. If you missed it, don't fret, as I'm also firing on this Saints-centric same game parlay.
Here's my Saints vs. Rams parlay for NFL Week 16.
Alvin Kamara 4+ Receptions
We knew the pairing of Kamara and Saints quarterback Derek Carr would be a match made in check-down heaven. The running back is second on the Saints in both receptions (68) and targets (78), despite being suspended the first three games of the season.
Kamara has caught at least four passes in nine of his 11 games, with the two misses in Saints blowout wins – something I don’t personally foresee happening tonight.
Kamara does his best receiving work versus zone coverage – his 77% target rate against the scheme is the highest among the Saints' primary pass catchers. And per Pro Football Focus, the Rams run zone at the sixth-highest rate in the NFL.
It’s also a sneaky-good matchup for volume, as both of these teams rate in the top 14 of offensive pace (and hence why I'm comfortable with two receiving SGP legs from the same team).
Kamara should be in store for another six targets today, with upside for more. I have him projected close to five catches.
Chris Olave 4+ Receptions / 40+ Receiving Yards
After missing last week’s contest against the Giants with a balky ankle, Olave comes into this game without any injury designation.
The Saints are already without receiver Michael Thomas, so Olave should once again see significant target volume on the outside.
Before hurting himself against the Panthers, Olave cleared this line in 10 of his 12 games. After a rocky stretch toward the middle of the season, the Ohio State product was starting to show some solid chemistry with the oft-maligned Carr.
Since their Week 10 bye, the Rams have allowed eight receivers to clear this combined line in five games.
With a strong 24% target share and Carr implied at 33 pass attempts, I’m expecting at least eight passes thrown Olave’s way.
