The Chicago Bears visit the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium for Sunday Night Football tonight. Kick off is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC/Peacock.
Find PropBetGuy's TJ Edwards player prop prediction for Bears vs Texans below.
With the Bears and Texans facing off on Sunday Night Football, we’ll be treated to a pair of offenses flush with playmakers. However, for my favorite prop of the night, I’ll be honing in on the defensive side of the ball.
Bears off-ball linebacker TJ Edwards is coming off a monster 15 tackle game against the Titans in week 1. He didn’t come off the field, playing 100% of the defensive snaps, while calling the plays on the field for the Bears defense.
The matchup against the Texans should serve as a solid matchup for Edwards to once again rack up the tackles. Last season, the Texans allowed the ninth most tackles per game to linebackers, per Pro Football Focus data.
Last week, the Colts registered 83 tackles against Houston – by far the highest week 1 mark. While I’m not expecting team totals to those levels, I do expect Houston to control the clock in this one.
We saw some growing pains for Caleb Williams and the Bears offense against Tennessee. Now with both Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze both banged up, it could prove increasingly challenging for the Bears to move the ball against a stout Texans defense.
This would lead to more possessions for the Texans offense, and in turn, more opportunity for Edwards.
I have Edwards projected close to 11 combined tackles and assists tonight. I’d play this line up to -125.
