Nashville Predators vs. Los Angeles Kings NHL Preview

By The Degenerates

The Kings have a 22-3-4 home record, and are playing a weak Predators team tonight.

Nashville is the opposite of elite on the road, where they are 8-21-4. The Predators played last night in Anaheim losing 2-1, so the legs should be a little heavy tonight.

Backup Justus Annunen will start in net for the Preds with an 8-5 record and 3.09 GAA this season. Annunen has really struggled in recent starts though, allowing 4+ goals in 5 of his last 6 starts.

Nashville has been rough defensively all year long allowing 3.52 goals per game on 31 shots on goal, and the Kings have been lethal scoring goals at home this season with 3.28 per game on 28 shots on goal and 19.1% power play rate.

The Predators' biggest issue this season has been their inability to score on the road, where they've put up only 2.24 goals per game and converted 18% of power plays. Nashville has scored two goals or fewer in five of their last 10 games.

That doesn't figure to change tonight as LA is one of the toughest teams to score on in the NHL. LA has allowed just 2.03 goals per game at home on an extremely low 24.7 shots on goal while killing 81% of penalties.

Darcy Kuemper, who should get the start tonight, has the best home record in the NHL at 13-1-2 with a .930 save percentage and 2.23 GAA. As a favorite this season, LA has allowed 2.40 goals per game on less than 25 shots on goal and killed 88.6% of penalties.

Best Bet: Kings -1.5 (+115)
