Minnesota Wild vs. New York Rangers NHL Preview

By Ryan Sura

The Minnesota Wild have been great on the road this season with a 22-11-4 record, and I think they find another W away from home tonight at MSG.

The Wild’s stats over the last week are rough, ranking in the bottom three in the league in goals per game over that span (1.77 goals for per 60). However, look at the opponents they’ve faced: the Devils twice, Capitals, Knights, and Stars. That list includes some of the fastest and toughest defensive teams in the league.

Meanwhile, the Rangers are coming off of a West coast trip where they played the Sharks, Ducks, Kings, and Canucks. Other than LA, all those other teams are subpar. Going from playing San Jose to Minnesota can be a drastic change in competitiveness and peskiness; the Wild are not an easy team to play against.

I understand Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Eriksson Ek are still out, but this price is too hard to pass up. The Wild as an away underdog of +120 to +140 are 5-2 this season. The Rangers, on the other hand, are 3-5 as a home favorite between -175 to -125 this season.

After losing back-to-back games to the Devils, I think the Wild can play spoiler on the road as the Rangers continue to fight for the final Eastern Conference wild-card spot.

Best Bet: Wild Moneyline
