He's at 26.3% through four starts, a number legitimized by his 13.4% swinging-strike rate. This has allowed Varland to get six-plus strikeouts in four of five starts despite making just two starts at home. Given the velo spike, I think it's fine to buy into this small sample and dip into an upside market for Varland.
