Gray under in 6/11 - and despite his 2.77 ERA, his xERA of 4.18 is in line with the last two seasons (5+ ERA in each). Struggles with command - 61% strike rate is 12th lowest (out of 119), and his walk rate sits in the 18th percentile. Phillies have been a more patient team at the plate since Harper has come back - their walk rate of 10.6% vs RHP in May is a big jump from the 7.4% they drew in March/April. And yes, the offense is in a slump - but they’ve faced studs like Morton, Strider, Senga and Scherzer over the last week. I like them to get to Gray and chase him after 5 IP.
