Available at FanDuel. Matt Manning has a 3.72 ERA through five starts this year, but the underlying numbers are concerning. Not only does he have just a 6.1% swinging-strike rate, but he's letting up a 45.2% hard-hit rate and 53.6% fly-ball rate. That can lead to big problems in a hurry. On the other side, Jordan Lyles is having a wretched year. But he has cut way back on his curveball usage his past six starts, and in that time, he's letting up just a 29.7% hard-hit rate. The peripherals on both guys lead my model to have the Royals favored straight up, which is why I'm okay taking plus money on the moneyline.
