Props expert PropBetGuy will be breaking down some of his favorite plays and will track all his bets in the Action Network app throughout the 2024 MLB season.

The Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox continue their three-game series on Wednesday at Guaranteed Rate Field. The Astros were blanked in the series opener and will turn to right-hander Hunter Brown on Wednesday as they try to even the series.

Brown is the centerpiece of this Astros vs White Sox same game parlay, as I'm targeting the right-hander in multiple prop markets — hits allowed and strikeouts — on Wednesday night.

While technically a same game parlay, all eyes will be on one man for this bet: Astros starter Hunter Brown.

After a disastrous March and April in which Brown pitched to a 9.78 ERA, he’s settled down in May and June with an ERA of 2.58.

As his earned run average has dropped, his strikeout rate has climbed back to what we’ve become accustomed to from the third-year pro. Since May 1, Brown’s called plus swinging-strike rate of 30% ranks 14th out of 130 pitchers with at least 40 innings.

Despite his early-season struggles, Brown has only yielded more than five hits twice in 13 starts. In fact, the combination of this line has hit in nine of the last 10 of Brown's outings.

Facing the White Sox, Brown will get his chance at their cellar-dwelling offense. Against right-handed pitching, the South-Siders are hitting an MLB worst .217, with a 23.6% strikeout rate (11th highest). They’ve been similarly terrible over the last two weeks versus righties as well (.226 and 25.6%).

With Brown on the up and up, I want to make sure I invest in him in one of the most favorable matchups. I love this two-leg parlay, and would play it down to -115.
