Thunder vs. Bucks Odds & Betting Predictions - March 24, 2024

One of the best games on the Sunday slate is the Thunder vs the Bucks. While it has been advantageous to take guards vs the Bucks due to their abysmal perimeter defense, Josh Giddey does not have the bag to take advantage of that. Giddey is a complete non-entity from the perimeter. He cannot shoot from long range and teams practically are begging him to do so. He has seen his minutes decrease from 24.9 per game to 23.1 per game out of the All-Star Break as well. While he has maintained the same scoring average (11.5), it’s due to an increase in efficiency, which based on his career numbers seems more like an outlier than anything to take meaningful action from. Here, I expect him to have difficulty finishing in the paint. Giddy takes 68% of his shot attempts from short mid-range and at the rim. While this is a shot the Bucks tend to allow due to their drop coverage, it is one they can properly defend with both Giannis and Brook Lopez on the interior. Given Chet’s ability to space the floor, I think it is more likely that the Bucks throw someone like Middleton or Crowder on him while leaving Lopez or Giannis on Giddey so they can help off of him. The 11.5 points line is one Giddy has only hit in 46% of games this season and I expect him to have a bit of difficulty staying on the floor due to the lack of spacing he provides in this matchup.
