It’s been another disaster of a season for the lowly Hornets. Sitting at 17-54, the fourth-worst record in the NBA, it’s safe to say the team is counting down the days until the offseason.
With LaMelo Ball out with an injury and having traded away Terry Rozier, Miles Bridges has served as the de facto go-to guy for Charlotte. And even in an elevated role, I’ll be on the under of Bridges’ points, rebounds and assists (PRA) line tonight.
Bridges comes into this matchup having failed to clear this line in five straight games, including a lackluster 21 PRA performance in 38 minutes against the Cavs on Monday. With defensive stalwart Evan Mobley locked in as his primary defender, the Michigan State product managed only 5-of-14 shooting from the field.
It’s a gross matchup in general, as the Cavs boast the NBA’s fourth-rated defense. In fact, since the Rozier trade (and without Ball in the lineup), Bridges has stayed under this PRA line in 9-of-14 games against the top 15 defenses in the NBA.
Couple the tough matchup with the fact that both of these teams rank in the bottom six of pace over the last 15 games, and it’s going to be tough for Bridges to garner the volume he’d need to clear this total.
I have the mercurial forward projected closer to 29 PRA tonight, and I’d play this to under 31.5.
