Fanatics Sportsbook is expanding its Fair Play injury refunds for the NBA Playoffs.
If a player who's wagered upon suffers an injury in the first half and does not return, Fanatics will activate Fair Play and honor bets across straight plays, parlays and same-game parlays for the entirety of the playoffs.
The new criterion expands on Fanatics' already existing Fair Play house rule, which covered a player getting injured in only the first quarter.
Once a player is officially ruled out, all bets including that player will be voided within 30 minutes, according to Fanatics. If the bet is a parlay, that player prop leg will be voided.
There have already been plenty of instances throughout the season in which Fanatics honored bets that would have otherwise lost due to injury.
On Christmas Day, Anthony Davis bettors were paid out when the former Los Angeles Lakers big man suffered a left ankle sprain midway through the first quarter. The same thing happened just over a month later when Davis suffered an abdominal sprain after playing less than 10 minutes.
Fanatics' Fair Play has even been enacted when it comes to futures.
Earlier this year, the San Antonio Spurs announced that second-year superstar Victor Wembanyama would miss the remainder of the season due to deep vein thrombosis in his shoulder. With Wembanyama sitting as a -2500 favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year before San Antonio's announcement, Fanatics decided to grade DPOY bets on Wembanyama as a win.
Along with these NBA bets, Fanatics also paid out plenty of big-money bets throughout the NFL season.
In addition to the Fair Play extension, Fanatics is launching a new initiative called FanCash Drops — a new game that gives customers a chance to win up to $10,000 FanCash, as well as other prizes every Friday.
Prizes will vary every week, and no bet is required to play.
First-time players are guaranteed to win FanCash in this new game, and they can put their FanCash winnings toward bonus bets, authentic apparel and more.
