Rookies typically find their groove toward the end of their first season — and Cade Cunningham is no exception.
Since his return from a hip injury, the No. 1 overall pick has been stuffing the stat sheet to the tune of 33.3 average points, rebounds and assists (PRA) over his past seven games. Cunningham’s uptick in production can simply be attributed to volume: Over his past 15 games, the Oklahoma State product's shot attempts (18 vs. 14.5), usage (28.8% vs. 25.6%) and drives per game (16.7 vs. 11.8) are all up significantly.
The Hawks defense has regressed mightily this season, rating 27th overall. With their better defenders mostly frontcourt players, the Hawks' main issues are against perimeter players — they yield the fifth-most PRA per game to opposing guards on the highest field goal percentage.
I like Cunningham to keep it rolling on Monday night at home. I have the first-year guard pegged for around 34 PRA against the Hawks.
Bet to: Over 31.5 PRA
