If you’ve been following me on Twitter (shameless plug: @PropBetGuy) or in the Action App, you already know that I’ve been riding Naji Marshall over the past few games. The Pelicans forward has been thrusted into a prominent role in the absence of stars Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram.
Over his last five contests, Marshall has cleared this line four times, with his lone miss being 25 Points + Rebounds + Assists. His usage has been consistent, registering between 20-24% in each game.
The Xavier product is versatile, with multiple means of production. Over the last five games, Marshall ranks second on the Pelicans in field goal attempts per game (14.8), first in free throw attempts (6.6), third in potential assists (6.8), and third in rebound chances (9.0).
And tonight, against the Pistons, Marshall should find himself in yet another prime opportunity to stuff the stat sheet. Detroit has consistently been one of the NBA’s worst defensive teams throughout the season, ranking 29th. The Pistons lack plus defenders across the board and Marshall should be in a great spot.
And being that he’s also one of the Pelicans better defenders, the third-year pro has a massive minutes ceiling — he’s played at least 33 minutes in each of the last five games, in varying game scripts.
Tonight, I have Marshall projected at 29 PRA, and would play this line up to over 26.5 PRA.
Pick: Naji Marshall Over 25.5 PRA (-115)
