The Parlay: (+185 at DraftKings)

  • Gabe Vincent 12+ Points
  • Jamal Murray 8+ Assists

Gabe Vincent 12+ Points

Vincent let me down in Game 3 – I was on his point prop (over 13.5), and he only wound up with seven. The Heat point guard came out of the gates quickly, netting five points in the first eight minutes of action. However, after three (very questionable) fouls committed in the second quarter, Vincent failed to get back going in the second half.

That being said, I’ll gladly buy back on a discounted points line for tonight. Vincent has notched at least 12 points in six of his last nine games dating back to the beginning of the Celtics series, with at least 10 shots taken in each of his last seven games as well.

The Heat actively sought out Jimmy Butler in Game 3 when he was switched onto a smaller defender. I expect Denver to scheme to try to keep Aaron Gordon attached to Butler as much as possible, while clogging the paint on Butler's drives.

This should allow Vincent some open looks on the back-end, where he has thrived as both a spot-up shooter (49% on catch-and-shoot from three pointers in the playoffs) and on secondary drives.

I have Vincent with a bounce-back 15 point performance tonight.

Jamal Murray 8+ Assists

When you think about assists with the Denver Nuggets, the first inclination is always Nikola Jokic (which makes sense, given he’s the best passing big man in the history of the game). But don’t sleep on Jamal Murray.

The Kentucky product has accrued exactly 10 assists in each of the first three games of the series. Not only is he leading the Nuggets in dimes, but his 54 potential assists also dwarfs Jokic’s 41 thus far.

While Jokic is a tough matchup for anyone, the Nuggets are using Murray as a pick-and-roll ball-handler much more in this series to try to allow Jokic to get cleaner looks against the defensive force that is Bam Adebayo. Jokic has finished 65 of Murray’s 122 playoff assists in these playoffs.

I project another nine dimes for Murray tonight.
