With the Heat decimated by injuries, Bam Adebayo took matters into his own hands during Game 3 on Saturday night.
After a pedestrian first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals saw him average 32 total points + rebounds +assists, big Bam exploded for 47 in Game 3.
It was obvious from the jump that the game plan was to get Adebayo the ball. The Kentucky product saw a whopping 50 frontcourt touches, which were more than double the 17 and 19 he received combined in Games 1 and 2.
Tyler Herro has already been ruled out for Game 4. While Jimmy Butler seems destined to play, it’s safe to wonder how healthy he’ll be after sitting out the second half of Game 3. Kyle Lowry is also still struggling to find his footing offensively, which means Adebayo should be in prime position as one of the focal points of the Heat offense.
On the Celtics side, even if Robert Williams plays, Boston’s defensive focus will be limiting Butler. And with the Heat’s shooting prowess on the outside, Adebayo should have plenty of space to operate at the high post.
I just see way too much involvement coming Bam’s way. I have Adebayo projected at 33 PRA.
Pick: Bam Adebayo Over 28.5 PRA (-110); bet to 29.5
