During his time with the Warriors, Andrew Wiggins has been one of my favorite fade targets. His prop lines have been inflated, especially as he’s played alongside his superstar teammates.
That being said, I’m flipping the script for Game 2. Wiggins isn't just in great form this postseason, averaging 25.9 PRA per 36 minutes, but he also has a terrific individual matchup against the Mavericks.
Dorian Finney-Smith and Reggie Bullock, Dallas’ ace perimeter defenders, will be again consumed with tracking the Splash Brothers. This leaves Luka Doncic to guard Wiggins, and that’s a matchup the Warriors will look to exploit.
As a product of Golden State’s ball movement, Wiggins led the team with nine drives and 10 open shots last game. Dallas is sending soft double teams at Stephen Curry at the top of the key, which leaves the Warriors on a 4-on-3 advantage after Curry dumps it off (typically to Draymond Green). Green's passing led to Wiggins accruing 30 frontcourt touches — the second most on the team.
We saw this in the regular season, as well, with Wiggins averaging 33.3 frontcourt touches in 4 games against the Mavericks, also the second highest on the team. The added touches not only helps his scoring potential, but his assists as well.
I’m all-in on the first time All-Star in Game 2. I have Wiggins projected at 27 PRA.
Pick: Andrew Wiggins Over 23.5 PRA (-110); bet to 24.5
