Horford has served as an extremely vital piece for the Celtics, both over the course of the regular season and the playoffs.
In this series specifically, Big Al has served as the primary defender on Giannis Antetokounmpo. Offensively, he’s put up 25 PRA in each game. However, I’m looking to fade the Celtics big man in Game 3.
The Bucks' length and athleticism at the rim make it difficult for opposing big men to produce inside. We’ve seen that with Horford, who in four matchups this season against Milwaukee has taken 65% of his shots from behind the arc — a bump from his season average of 47%.
While the Florida alum is capable of hitting 3-pointers, he shot just 30% from deep on the road this season.
And while he’s been rebounding well in this series thus far, I expect a bit of regression on that end.
With the awkwardly long layoff since Game 2, I expect Robert Williams III to see a few more minutes in Game 3. When the two shared the floor this season, Williams was clearly the alpha on the boards, averaging three more rebounds per 36 minutes than Big Al.
Today, I expect more meager production for the Celtics’ veteran. I have Horford projected at 19 PRA.
