The injury bug has bit the upstart Cavaliers at the absolute worst time.

Cleveland will be without starting big men Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen on Wednesday night when the Cavaliers face off against the Maverick, which means Kevin Love is likely poised for a big role against Dallas.

The longest tenured and often forgotten Cavalier has acquitted himself well in mostly a bench role this season. Love is averaging 23 PRA this season in only 22.5 minutes per contest. In games in which the UCLA alum has seen at least 26 minutes of floor time, Love has eclipsed this total 11-of-18 times.

More importantly, Love has thrived when called upon without Mobley or Allen on the floor. When playing without those two, Love is averaging 34.2 PRA per 28 minutes across a 334-minute sample this season. Even if Love doesn’t get the start tonight, he’s likely slated for a big workload as the Cavs will be fighting for playoff positioning.

The Mavericks possess a good team defense, but rate as league-average against big men. With the depleted frontcourt, I have Love projected for 30 PRA.

Pick: Over 26.5 PRA | Bet to: 27.5
