Andrew Wiggins' steady play has been somewhat overlooked in the Warriors' playoff run. The first time All-Star is averaging 16.1 points per game this postseason, eclipsing this total in nine of the last 12 games.
In Game 1, we saw the aggression Wiggins had been playing with carry over to the Finals. The Warriors wing amassed a 21% Usage Rate with 15 shot attempts in 35 minutes, which was second-most on the team.
As has been the case most in most of these playoffs, Wiggins has to take advantage of his clean looks. Steph Curry is being virtually shadowed by Marcus Smart and company, which is opening up passing lanes once Draymond Green collects the ball at the high post or top of the key. After Curry went off in the first quarter, the Celtics blitzed him on screens, which is likely the game plan for Game 2.
I also expect Wiggins to see a bump in his minutes to the 40+ he’s been receiving in non-blowouts in the last few rounds.
Maple Jordan should be in line for another productive night, and I have him projected at 19 points.
Pick: Andrew Wiggins Over 16.5 Points (-110) | Also Playable at Over 22.5 Points + Rebounds
