My Boston College vs Notre Dame College Basketball Betting Preview

Notre Dame has a worse record than Boston College (7-9 compared to 9-7) and is sitting in the same position in the ACC standings as the Eagles (second-to-last).

The Irish have also lost four straight games and dropped an outing to Elon at home early in the season.

So, why are the Irish favored by double-digits in this spot?

Well, there are a couple of reasons.

First, Markus Burton, the Irish's leading scorer and best player, is back after missing seven games due to a knee injury. His return significantly increases the upside of this Irish roster and opens the floor for shooters like Braeden Shrewsberry and Matt Allocco.

Second, the Irish have Micah Shrewsberry on the sidelines, creating a complete coaching mismatch against Boston College's Earl Grant.

The confidence in the Notre Dame side doesn't end there, though.

The Irish are coming off two straight road losses and now return home to South Bend, providing us with a nice situational spot. It's not like Notre Dame played poorly during its road trip either, losing by one point to NC State and covering against Duke on the road despite a 42-point effort from Cooper Flagg.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are terrible on the road, including an ugly 21-point loss to Georgia Tech. They also have their biggest spot of the season coming up on Saturday (at home against Duke), so it's entirely possible that they aren't as motivated for this particular matchup.

Most importantly, we're getting some value on this spread. Bart Torvik has the Irish favored by 13 points while Haslametrics has Notre Dame clocked in as 15-point favorites.
