Virginia Tech vs Boston College NCAAB Betting Preview

Let's be honest: The ACC hasn't been very good this season.

And for this game, it's a battle between 6-8 Virginia Tech and 2-12 Boston College, two of the worst teams in the league.

But there's value here because Virginia Tech has more competence to it. The Hokies won at Florida State and Virginia in back-to-back games and they played SMU close.

Mike Young's unit recently lost at Virginia, so this is a quick turnaround spot.

Virginia Tech's roster badly lacks talent, but the Hokies have found some semblance of a rotation. They don't have much dynamic play in the backcourt — they're very execution-reliant — but they have Tobi Lawal up front.

Lawal, who's averaging 13.3 points and 6.9 rebounds a night, can wreak havoc on the interior against a Boston College frontline that I just frankly don't trust and don't think provides any sort of resistance at all.

The Eagles rank outside the top 200 in rebounds per game, which gives me another reason to back the Hokies in this spot.

Plus, Boston College has one of the worst home court advantages in the conference.
