Daniel Jones had a mediocre performance, throwing for only 178 yards on 16 completions. Malik Nabers emerged as his top target, but with the rest of the receiving corps failing to produce, it’s clear the Giants’ offensive ceiling is low, particularly with their run game also faltering. The rookie wideout dropped a key fourth-down pass, further highlighting the team’s lack of execution in critical moments. Even with the Giants finding occasional success with Nabers, their overall inability to finish drives and move the chains consistently (272 yards per game) makes it unlikely they’ll have an offensive breakout, especially on the road against a stout Cleveland defense. Cleveland, meanwhile, is coming off an ugly win against Jacksonville, where Deshaun Watson struggled once again, managing only 186 passing yards. Watson has not looked sharp, with the passing game further hindered by the slow start of Amari Cooper, who’s been unreliable with key drops and minimal production. The Browns’ run game also took a hit with multiple injuries to key players like Pierre Strong Jr., and this should further limit their ability to move the ball. Their defense, however, remains elite, ranking among the best in the NFL, and they’ll be in prime position to smother the Giants’ already anemic offense. Both teams come into this matchup with offenses that have been inconsistent at best, struggling to convert in the red zone and dealing with injuries to key players. On the other hand, Cleveland’s defense is dominant, and they’ve consistently proven they can pressure the quarterback and force mistakes. Given the Giants’ poor offensive performance and the Browns’ struggles to move the ball, this game should be low-scoring. The under has hit in four of the last six meetings between these teams, and with neither side showing signs of offensive explosiveness, expect another tight, defensive battle.

Our model has been on this all week, and I’m going to ride with it. Watson has been well over this mark in both games, and nothing about the way the Browns have played points an overtly positive game script or blowout. This makes me think we’ll see more of the same and comfortably over 30.5 attempts.
