👁️ The Mavericks face off against the Pistons who are the worst team in the NBA at defending above the break 3s. One player that can take advantage of this, especially with his current volume without Luka, is Kyrie Irving. Irving has averaged 2.9 3s per game this season both with and without Luka. However, his volume jumps from 7 to 8.2 attempts per game. Without Luka he’s made 3+ in 67% of games. Looking at his history against the Pistons, he’s made 3+ in four straight games against them although I give that little weight given the coaching and personnel changes. The Pistons allow their opponents to shoot a whopping 38.8% on above the break 3s; the highest mark in the NBA. Kyrie takes about 30% of his shots from this range and specifically does not take looks from the corner where Detroit is a bit better defensively. The spread here is just 1 so we should see a competitive game. I expect Irving to make 3+ tonight.
