  • Below you'll find projected matchups, along with projected spreads, for all 2019 college football bowl games.
  • Saturday's results shook up the projections, as both Alabama and Penn State saw their CFP odds fall substantially with losses.

Saturday certainly lived up to the hype.

With Alabama and Penn State both going down, our bowl projections were due for a good shakeup. Virginia also vaulted itself back into the Orange Bowl, while the Pac-12 could have two New Year's Six representatives.

You'll find the projection for every game below, plus projected point spreads on those matchups via our oddsmaker-style power ratings. Action EDGE members can use them to get any line between any two teams.

2019 College Football Bowl Projections

CFP & New Year's Six Bowls

Minnesota mucked up a perfectly clear Rose Bowl picture by knocking off Penn State. We still have the Gophers as underdogs at Iowa and Wisconsin, and losses in those games would likely send the Badgers to the Big Ten title game. But since Minnesota has a two-game lead in the Big Ten West, we'll stick them in the Rose Bowl.

As for the College Football Playoff, there's just too much left to be decided to have a concrete guess at the No. 4 team. The way it's shaping up, Ohio State, Clemson and LSU all have a greater than 70% chance, but the final spot is very much up for grabs.

If Oklahoma wins out, it will have possibly two wins over Baylor and another over Oklahoma State. That could be enough to boost their resume.

There are still so many scenarios in play — like Georgia winning the SEC title, a one-loss Pac-12 champion getting in, or Alabama somehow sneaking into the top 4.

Every Other Bowl Game

Trying to make accurate bowl projection is much harder than it looks, I assure you.

Not only that, but a few conferences are shaping up to not fill all their games because of current records and potential New Year's Six slots. The SEC, for example, could be a short a team with three in the NY6. The AAC could also be short if its champion represents the Group of Five in the NY6, like we project Memphis to do.

There's still also so much to be decided between teams on the cusp of six wins. So if you're a fan of a team like Texas Tech, Cal, TCU, Washington State, etc., you can dispel these projections with a few wins down the stretch. You just may not be favored in those games, which is why you're left out for now.
