INDIANAPOLIS — Rutgers punter Adam Korsak thought about the question briefly — what nickname would he prefer to have as the nation’s best punter? — but then said it wasn’t up to him.

“That’s for you guys to choose,” Korsak said. “I can’t really pick my own nickname. My nickname around campus is just generally ‘Aussie’ or ‘punter.’ That’s the two I normally get.

“I don’t think anyone knows my first name or last name. I don’t think a nickname is something someone chooses. You guys can get creative with it.”

While Korsak’s nickname remains in limbo, here’s something he can be called: an Action Network preseason All-American.

Korsak is among 52 players named to the Action Network’s preseason All-American teams. Myself, along with Action Network seniors writers Collin Wilson and Stuckey, selected the teams. Korsak is our preseason Special Teams Player of the Year, while Alabama quarterback Bryce Young and Alabama linebacker Will Anderson Jr. are our preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively.

In all, 35 schools are represented on our All-American teams with nine schools having multiple selections: Alabama (7), Georgia (3), Notre Dame (3), Ohio State (3), Clemson (2), Iowa (2), Kansas State (2), Michigan (2) and USC (2)

Among the conferences, the SEC led the way with 15 selections, followed by the Big Ten (11), ACC (7), Big 12 (7), Pac-12 (5), AAC (1), Mountain West (1) and Sun Belt (1). Independent Notre Dame had three players and BYU one.
