USC quarterback Caleb Williams is trying to become the first Heisman Trophy repeat winner in nearly 50 years. It only took him a few months to repeat as an Action Network All-American.

Williams, selected to Action Network’s All-American team after last season, headlines our 2023 preseason All-American team. Action Network Senior Writer Collin Wilson and I selected the 52-player team.

Besides Williams, there are 10 other players who were on Action Network’s All-American team last season and made this year’s preseason team: Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., Michigan running back Blake Corum, Notre Dame tackle Joe Alt, Kansas State guard Cooper Beebe, UConn guard Christian Haynes, LSU linebacker Harold Perkins, Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry, Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, Miami safety Kamren Kinchens and Stanford kicker Joshua Karty.

In all, 37 schools are represented on our All-American teams with nine schools having multiple selections: Michigan (3), Alabama (3), Georgia (3), Ohio State (3), Clemson (2), LSU (2), Penn State (2), Texas (2) and Washington (2).

Among the conferences, the Big Ten and SEC each had 12 selections. The Pac-12 and ACC each had seven selections, followed by the Big 12 (4), Sun Belt (3), AAC (1), Conference USA (1) and Mountain West (1). Independents Notre Dame and UConn had one player each.

Now, let's take a look at the first- and second-team Action Network Preseason All-Americans.
