Each week at Action Network, we will monitor the 2024 Heisman race.
Whose Heisman stock is up and whose Heisman stock is dropping?
The odds have been shaken up after Week 5, with Jalen Milroe taking over as the favorite after Alabama's win over Georgia.
Let's take a look at how the odds have changed for college football's most coveted individual trophy. These odds are courtesy of BetMGM, but if you're looking for a full list of the odds from various sportsbooks, visit here.
Stock Up
Colorado WR/CB Travis Hunter
Current Odds: +700
Travis Hunter's odds had been on the rise. Now, he's a legitimate candidate. He did not perform his best statistically against UCF this past week. The way Colorado dominated the football game may have helped his chances more than his performance.
Colorado now has the second-highest chances of winning the Big 12, according to ESPN's FPI. If Colorado is in the College Football Playoff, it is almost a foregone conclusion that Travis Hunter will win the Heisman.
Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty
Current Odds: +1000
Jeanty wasn't on the Heisman odds board until Sept. 9. He now has the fourth-highest odds to win the Heisman Trophy. Jeanty is putting up unprecedented numbers through four games. He is averaging over 200 rushing yards per game and over 10 yards per carry.
Alabama QB Jalen Milroe
Current Odds: +200
Milroe has jumped up as the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy after Alabama's win over Georgia. Milroe threw for 374 yards and two touchdowns and has vaulted the Crimson Tide into title contenders.
Stock Down
Texas QB Quinn Ewers
Current Odds: +2500
The favorite just a few weeks ago has seen his odds take a tumble after suffering an injury. Ewers has not played since Sept. 14 and may simply not have the numbers to win the Heisman.
Ohio State QB Will Howard
Current Odds: +5000
Howard started the season in the second tier of Heisman contenders. The Buckeyes are ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation. But Howard hasn't put up impressive enough numbers against spotty competition. He could help his campaign with exceptional performances against top competition.
