Bet To Watch

Buffalo Over 6.5 (-150)

Could we just sum up this Buffalo preview and win total bet with Tyree Jackson highlights? Jackson, listed at 6-foot-7 and 245 pounds, made his presence known in a breakout 2017 season for the Bulls. He averaged a strong 8.8 yards per passing attempt with a 12-3 TD/INT ratio, and ran for four more scores.

NFL scouts have their eyes on Jackson, and 2018 will be all about how his game translates to the big stage. Expect each Buffalo game to be a showcase for the scouts on Jackson and wide receiver Anthony Johnson.

So far, the Buffalo quarterback has been clocked at 4.57 in the 40-yard dash, and its highlights like this that should make a few inexperienced MAC defensive fronts nervous.

Jackson can take advantage of defensive lines that don't create havoc and are inexperienced. Three of Buffalo's last five opponents, Toledo, Ohio, and Kent State, fit that bill.

The Buffalo defense is 66th overall in returning production. It ranked 15th against explosiveness, but 99th in efficiency.  You can move the ball down the field on this Buffalo team, just not in chunks, so pay attention to that when handicapping Bulls games.

Finally, the special teams play has to improve after ranking 123rd in 2017. Field goal value ranked 109th, something that must improve in a league where a lot of these teams are power rated about the same. Field goals can make a huge difference in the MAC.

Buffalo is 9-3 ATS at home in the last two years, and the every game at home is against lesser competition in the MAC. I'll play Over 6.5 (-150) on the season win total. Expect the game at Miami of Ohio to decide the MAC East
