It’s year two of the Deion Sanders era in Colorado and the “Prime Time” effect shows no signs of slowing down.

Buffalo laying 9.5-points against perennial FCS powerhouse North Dakota State is the most popular pick among bettors at BetMGM and DraftKings. Unsurprisingly, the books are rooting like crazy for the Bison to cover as they’ll take a huge hit if Colorado covers.

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders is of course the big draw when it comes to Buffalo. The head coach’s son is one of the favorites to go first overall in next year’s NFL Draft. However, despite his popularity and future prospects, oddsmakers don’t like his chances to win the Heisman Trophy. He’s only +3000 at BetMGM, which is tied with Kansas QB Jalon Daniels for the 13th-best odds.

Finally, despite the public loving Colorado, our Brad Cunningham isn’t quite ready to pull the trigger on them. Instead, he’s targeting North Dakota State’s first half team total for his prediction.

“North Dakota State has been an absolute pest to FBS teams over the years,” he explains. “Since 2011, the Bison have a 6-1 record against the FBS and have covered every single game with their only loss coming by three points to Arizona in 2022. They aren't at their peak anymore, but they without a doubt have the guys in the trenches and the run game to give Colorado some problems."
