Kent State Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 6-6
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 8-4
  • Conference: MAC
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 76
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 108
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 13

Analysis: Sean Lewis turned around Kent State faster than anyone thought he could. His Flash Fast mantra rang very true in 2019, as his offense was top-10 in tempo. They certainly go fast, but the Flashes offense doesn’t do much of anything well besides some moderate passing success. Kent State’s defense is simply not good. They limit explosive run plays but get gashed on the ground, ranking 122nd in rushing success rate. This team looks like a classic MAC fade if they get selected for a bowl game. –Kyle Miller

USU Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 7-5
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 7-5
  • Conference: Mountain West
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 74
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 62
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 47

Analysis: 2019 was pretty much the season that was expected from the Aggies. They finished with seven wins — right on the win total assigned to them back in the summer, and for the most part, they won and lost the games they were supposed to. Exceptions to that included a blowout loss at home to BYU (as 3-point favorites) and a road win over Fresno State at +5.5. Well-balanced on both sides of the ball, Utah State finished with the 82nd ranked offense and 76th ranked defense (SP+), and sits at 80th overall. Individually, Jordan Love finished third in the conference in passing yards, but struggled to control the ball, leading the Mountain West with 16 picks (to just 17 touchdowns). –Danny Donahue
