The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Florida State Seminoles meet in Dublin on Saturday for the biggest game of Week 0 in college football, and I'm here to help us get the season started with a Georgia Tech vs Florida State same-game parlay.
The Seminoles come into the year with a lot of new faces on the roster after multiple key players departed from their squad that went undefeated in the regular season in 2023.
Meanwhile, coach Brent Key got the Yellow Jackets back on track by earning a trip to the bowl game for the first time since 2018.
For this pivotal ACC matchup, we’ll break this game down with a same-game parlay, which can be a great avenue to combine correlated outcomes into a single bet.
There are advantages on both sides of the ball for FSU, but we have seen the sharp money move the line in Tech’s direction early. Let’s jump into this contest to give our college football same-game parlay for Week 0 of Florida State versus Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech vs Florida State Same-Game Parlay: +414 Odds
- Pick 1: Roydell Williams Over 66.5 Rushing Yards
- Pick 2: First-Half Under 28.5 Points

Georgia Tech vs Florida State Same Game Parlay Pick #1: Roydell Williams Over 66.5 Rushing Yards
The Yellow Jackets have shown improvement since Key took over as the head coach. However, there was one glaring weakness last season, and it was the struggles their defense had stopping the run.
No matter what metric you look at, it just wasn’t good enough for Georgia Tech. Key’s squad ranked in the bottom four in the country in yards per carry (5.4) and rushing yards per game (225.7) allowed.
Over the course of the season, the Yellow Jackets allowed the running back of nine of 11 Power 5 opponents to top this same rushing total.
So, the first leg of my same-game parlay is for Roydell Williams to fly over his rushing prop of 66.5 yards at FanDuel. This is a number I would include in our parlay up to 69.5.
The Alabama transfer finished second on the team in rushing yards (560), but among primary rushers, he led the Crimson Tide with a 5.0 YPC average.
Williams has to be salivating at the opportunity of facing this weak Georgia Tech defensive front behind this veteran Seminole offensive line. This is a unit that returns 190 career starts and should be able to push the defense around.
With FSU also breaking in a new quarterback who is known for his success on play-action passes, I could see Williams getting fed often and early on the ground.
Georgia Tech vs Florida State Same Game Parlay Pick #2: 1st Half Under 28.5
As I’ve thought about this game, it feels like one that could get off to a slow start for multiple reasons.
For one, this is the first one of the year for both teams against a familiar conference opponent. Once you add in the fact that it’s in Ireland, it is just an unfamiliar setting for the two schools.
Plus, you have Florida State who is going to be breaking in a new quarterback and group of receivers. I could see coach Mike Norvell keeping the game plan vanilla to get DJ Uiagalelei into an early rhythm.
On the other side of the field, Key should have more familiarity with his roster and what he brings back. However, Georgia Tech’s key option on offense is using quarterback Haynes King, which plays right into the Seminoles’ strength on defense.
FSU had one of the best secondaries in the country last season, and it is one of the groups on the team that brings a lot of that same core back. I could see this being a struggle early for King.
Another factor that could come into play here is the weather forecast calling for rain throughout the day and strong winds at kickoff. If this is the case, it is another knock against Tech’s passing attack and another reason to expect more early runs.
Georgia Tech vs Florida State Same Game Parlay Pick #3: DJ Uiagalelei Under 231.5 Passing Yards
For the final leg of our parlay, it is correlated to both of my earlier plays, which is for FSU’s Uiagalelei to fall under his passing prop of 231.5 yards.
Instead of restating what I think the game plan is for Florida State, I’ll give you some of the career numbers of Uiagalelei. Last season at Oregon State he failed to top this mark in three of nine games against Power 5 opposition.
During his last two seasons at Clemson, he only exceeded this passing total in two of his 21 starts against P5 teams.
So, we are now expecting him to do so in his first game at Florida State, playing on a neutral field in Ireland that could have wet and rainy conditions. Let’s also not forget that he will be throwing to a new set of receivers after FSU’s top three from last season left the program.
I’m just not buying it, especially when the way to attack Georgia Tech is on the ground. Another interesting wrinkle is the fact that offensive coordinator Alex Atkins is suspended for the first three games of the year.
Ultimately, Norvell is the playcaller, but I could see this being a game plan that focuses on an easy start for Uiagalelei and an emphasis on the run.
