With Christmas in the books, college football bowl season is in full swing. Many people across the country are off work and looking to get down on some bowl action, especially standalone games in the middle of the afternoon.
But most casual bettors don't look ahead and get down on postseason college football when lines first open. Instead, they scan the day's schedule, find a game and make a wager for action.
Today's Independence Bowl is unsurprisingly drawing a large handle, and this includes professional bettors that waited until gameday to make a play on the Miami vs. Louisiana Tech over/under.
Odds as of Thursday at 9 a.m. ET and via FanDuel, where Action Network users get a risk-free bet up to $500.
Using The Action Network's tools and data, let's examine how sharps are betting the Independence Bowl.
Independence Bowl: Miami vs. Louisiana Tech Sharp Betting Pick
This is a sneaky play because the majority of bets are one side, but the overall money is much more balanced, resulting in very little over/under movement.
Nearly 65% of tickets on the total have hit the over, but those account for just 48% of dollars wagered. As I mentioned, the actual money is much more even than ticket percentages suggest.
However, this does tell us that the bigger bets have come down on the under so far, and Sports Insights' Bet Signals are reporting that sharps are part of that action as well.
Wiseguy money hit the under shortly before 5:30 a.m. ET today, and despite the Miami vs. Louisiana Tech total still sitting at the opener of 50 at many books, a handful of shops have increased the vig on the under, like FanDuel Sportsbook which adjusted from -110 to -115 this morning.
Sharp Angle: Under 50
