Kansas State vs. Arizona Parlay

Parlay Odds: +488

Please always remember to bet responsibly. SGPs are long shots for a reason.

We were so close. In Week 2, we bounced back after Week 1’s debacle and were 22 Kevin Concepcion receiving yards away from cashing in on a +834 SGP.

Now, we have the battle of the Wildcats.

After defeating Northern Arizona by the score of 22-10, the 20th-ranked Arizona Wildcats head to Manhattan, Kansas, to face the 14th-ranked Kansas State Wildcats.

K-State certainly had an interesting time against Tulane, like most teams do when they go to New Orleans, coming back in the second half to win, 34-27.

I've compiled a hearty parlay for your betting pleasure in this duel between two ranked 2-0 programs. A prime-time game on Friday night and an opportunity to make some cash? Yes, please.

Below, find my Arizona vs. Kansas State parlay that adds up to +488 odds.

Kansas State 1H -4.5 (-110)

K-State had itself a barn burner in New Orleans last week. It seemed like the game against Tulane was getting out of reach, but Kansas State pulled back into the driver's seat in the second half.

In Week 1, it dominated a severely inferior team in UT Martin, and when it came time to face a program on its level, K-State wasn't initially ready for the challenge.

Now that Week 2 has passed, I think we’ll continue to see more of what Kansas State can do down the road. The Wildcats are back in Manhattan, where they’ve gone 12-3 since 2022.

Avery Johnson is getting more comfortable with each snap, and the Wildcats were among the best in the FBS in Havoc Allowed.

Meanwhile, Arizona still has some figuring out to do on the defensive end. It’s not the worst defensive program, as Jacob Manu continues to lead the charge, but it tends to err on the chaotic side.

Regardless, in a night game at home against a power conference opponent — plus the fact that Johnson is getting better with each rep — Kansas State will end the first half with a decent cushion.

Avery Johnson Over 42.5 Rush Yards (-114)

Johnson is a pure athlete — there’s no doubt about it. One of the biggest concerns about his game heading into the season was whether or not he could throw the ball with efficiency.

I still think it’s a work in progress for the 19-year-old, but I’m encouraged by what I’ve seen so far. He has completed over 65% of his passes in two straight games.

However, the one thing that always sets him apart is his ability to run and improvise. We haven’t seen him use his legs a ton this season (only 11 rush attempts), but when the passing game is clicking, who needs it?

On the other side of the field, Arizona has had a hard time stopping the QB scramble. It has given up at least 45 rushing yards to both quarterbacks it has faced this season, and with Johnson always willing to take off, I can see that trend continuing.

Tetairoa McMillan Over 90.5 Yards (-114)

Whatever we saw out of Tetairoia McMillan last week against NAU, we can put that in the rearview. I get it, 90.5 is a big number. But McMillan not only typically gets volume — he thrives off it.

After racking up 10 receptions for 304 yards and four touchdowns in Week 1, McMillan posted an extraordinarily underwhelming stat line in Week 2 with only two receptions for 11 yards.

We knew McMillan was going to come back down to earth, but we weren’t expecting those low numbers. However, it wasn’t exactly his fault, as he played only 57% of the snaps. Arizona also opted to run the ball 29 times, primarily with Quali Conley.

Not only that, but Conley also led the team in receiving yards, so it’s clear what type of direction Arizona wanted to go in.

I can’t blame the Cats. McMillan is as electric as it gets, and head coach Brent Brennan wants to save his stars for the games that require his excellence.

McMillan has extraordinary chemistry with quarterback Noah Fifita, as they’ve grown up together and connected for over 90 yards six times last season — with four consecutive 100-plus yard games.

I expect this aerial attack that ranks fourth in Passing Down Success Rate and 41st in Passing Success Rate to be revitalized.
