  • An Oklahoma-based radio personality lost a bet on the Oklahoma State football win total this season.
  • As a way of saying thank you for his faith in the team, head coach Mike Gundy sent a check to cover the $250 loss.

Mike Gundy is good for more than just football coaching and yelling at media members. Apparently, he can also serve as a gambling debt reimbursement option.

Earlier this week, a tweet surfaced showing a letter from the Oklahoma State head coach to a local radio personality, WWLS's Rob Benton, thanking Benton for his faith in the team. Benton bet $250 that the Cowboys would eclipse their win total of eight, and they only won six.

Along with the letter was a check for $250.

According to the note, Gundy found out about the bet through some high school friends that get drunk and listen to football talk radio (be more Oklahoma than that).

Gundy also left a subtle allusion to his famous, "I'm a man, I'm 40" outburst, dropping his age in the middle of the line calling his actions, "the manly thing to do."

That also served as a nice reminder that it's somehow been 11 years since that moment … yikes.
