After a 24-17 loss to Tennessee in the Third Saturday in October rivalry matchup, a 2nd loss gives Alabama a narrow path to making the College Football Playoff.
The Crimson Tide will likely need to win out in order to secure a bid, and that journey begins this Saturday when they return home to take on Missouri.
The Tigers have just 1 loss thus far. However, having played a soft schedule to this point, a 2nd loss likely eliminates them from the CFP as well.
Further complicating matters for the Tigers, they will likely have to win this week without starting quarterback Brady Cook.
As a result, the spread has ballooned in favor of the Crimson Tide, and I’ll be backing them with this parlay. Continue below for my Missouri vs. Alabama picks and Week 9 college football predictions.

Jalen Milroe 225+ Passing Yards & 2+ Passing TDs
Jalen Milroe comes into this week averaging 246 passing yards. He has thrown for 200 yards five times this season with 196 and 199 passing in the other two games. He has also reached 225 passing yards in three of his past four games.
Missouri comes into this week allowing just 157.6 passing yards per game. However, Boston College's Thomas Castellanos threw for 249 yards against them, while Texas A&M's Connor Weigman threw for 276 yards.
Castellanos threw three touchdown passes while Vanderbilt's Diego Pavia (who Alabama is certainly familiar with) threw two.
Milroe has thrown a touchdown pass in 10 of his last 11 games dating back to last season. In seven of those games, he threw two touchdown passes or more.
Alabama's team total this week is 34.5 points, which also leaves some wiggle room for a rushing touchdown or two.
Justice Haynes Anytime Touchdown
Last week's game ended a six-game streak of Milroe having at least one touchdown pass and one touchdown run in the same game.
However, Alabama has also gotten nine touchdowns from their top two backs, Jam Miller and Justice Haynes. Miller is the leading rusher, although I slightly prefer Haynes.
The former five-star recruit has 271 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 5.8 yards per carry this season. He has scored in each of the last two games, while Miller did not score in those games, after posting five consecutive games with a touchdown.
Their opportunities are nearly equal, but Haynes' odds (+135) to find the end zone have a better price compared to Miller (-135).
Haynes' last two touchdowns have come inside the 10-yard line, which indicates the goal-line touches may be going his way. Missouri has allowed six rushing touchdowns this season.
However, five of them came at Texas A&M, which is the best opponent it has played thus far.
Milroe, Miller, and Haynes are all candidates to find the end zone this week, but for the price, I am going with Haynes.
Jam Miller 40+ Rushing Yards
Miller is Alabama's leading rusher with 402 rushing yards on 6.4 yards per carry. He has consistently hit 40 rushing yards throughout this season, as he has hit that mark in six of seven games so far.
His consistency is unwavering. He has recorded exactly 42 yards on 12 carries in each of the last two weeks.
Additionally, Miller has been able to reach this line without many touches. He had 54 yards on five carries against Western Kentucky and 45 yards on five carries against Vanderbilt.
Missouri is 33rd in the FBS with 115.4 rushing yards allowed per game and 10th in Rushing Success Rate Allowed. However, it is also 80th in Rushing Explosiveness Allowed.
Miller has posted four runs of 30 yards or more this season, and another run like that could get him to 40 yards easily this week.
