Oregon vs. Wisconsin College Football Betting Preview

Oregon Ducks Betting Preview: Best in the Big Ten

Coach Dan Lanning has his team totally locked in after joining the Big Ten in the offseason. The Ducks are probably the best team in the Big Ten, especially after beating Ohio State earlier this season.

Still, being on top means you have a target on your back. Expect Wisconsin's best here, and Lanning needs to ensure the Ducks don't sleepwalk through the remainder of the season.

The Ducks offense is cooking, averaging 35.7 points per game behind Heisman candidate quarterback Dillon Gabriel. They rank 16th nationally in Pass Success Rate, although most of that is methodical, as they rank 98th in Pass Explosivness.

Jordan James leads an excellent rushing attack that balances the offense. Oregon ranks 38th in Rush Success Rate. Still, they also can't generate chunk plays on the ground, ranking 84th in Rush Success Rate.

The Ducks consistently move the football and control the clock. I expect more of the same on Saturday.

Lanning's defense allows a meager 16 points per game, partially because they control the clock so well. The secondary is spectacular, ranking 23rd in Pass Success Rate allowed.

Wisconsin Badgers Betting Preview: Paper Tiger?

After Tyler Van Dyke went down with a season-ending injury early in the season against Alabama, Braedyn Locke has stepped in as the starting quarterback, and it has gone about as expected. He has eight touchdowns to eight interceptions on the year, which he must clean up if he wants to win a game of this caliber.

The Badgers average 25 points per game, requiring more methodical drives. The Badgers rank 132nd nationally in Explosiveness, so they (like Oregon) try to sustain long drives to generate points.

The Badgers have consistently run the football, ranking 37th in rush rate and 21st in Rush Success Rate. However, the passing attack needs to improve, given that the Ducks will likely stack the box on Saturday.

The Badgers allow only 21.4 points per game, but they're a bit of a paper tiger, ranking 107th nationally in Rush Success Rate allowed and 43rd in Pass Success Rate allowed.

I suspect coach Luke Fickell will load the box early and try to get the Ducks to throw the ball. Still, Gabriel should move the ball against the secondary.

How to Bet My Oregon vs Wisconsin Picks

I presume both teams will be looking to run the ball heavily, and that could make for a low-scoring competitive game, given neither offense has shown many signs of explosiveness on the season.

Pick: Under 52
