Betting lines for today's Rose Bowl Game have been open for close to a full month now. And while public bettors have been flocking to the game for the entirety of the month, sharps have waited until the last minute to reveal their opinion.
As of Monday afternoon, this over/under sat at 58, just a half-point below its opening number. Even a month's worth of betting action had barely affected it.
However, that has changed over the past 24 hours as wiseguys have finally showed their hands.
It's now listed at 54.5 around most of the market just a day later, a line move that has come despite 63% of bets on the total hitting the over.
The bettors on the under, however, have generated 61% of actual money being wagered, meaning they're placing much bigger bets, and are therefore more likely to be sharps.
Confirming that indication, the under has also drawn five Sports Insights Bet Signals since Monday afternoon alone, all revealing instances of market-wide line movement caused by sharp action.
In fact, sharps steamed the under shortly after 10 a.m. ET today, driving the line total from 56.5 to 54.5.
Will the line fall continue throughout New Year's Day, or will buyback begin on a more reasonable over? Stay tuned as we'll be tracking every line move until kickoff here.
